Eucalyptus

“I claim health and peace for myself now. I am blessed with perpetual wellbeing.”

Eucalyptus is the calm in the storm. In the chaos that is the world, it can be reasurring to have this support. Eucalyptus doesn't get caught up in the dramas around us, instead she says, stop, breathe, live.

With it's sweet fruity scent, it is the smell of home for so many.

Australian Aboriginals have long used the leaves of the Eucalypt tree to bind wounds because they knew of their healing power. Eucalyptus is still grown in its home country of Australia and the oil is steam distilled from the leaves.

In World War 1 Eucalypus oil was widely used to control the many infections and bouts of influenza that ravaged the globe. These days you'd be pressed to find a home without this oil in its kitchen or laundry cupboard.

Eucalypus oil has antibacterial, expectorant, antiviral, analgesic and disinfectant properties.

Relieve inflamation in the respiratory system by adding 1-2 drops to a bowl of hot water and inhaling the vapours. Or apply direct to the chest to inhale.

Add 1-2 drops to a warm bath to ease muscle aches and pains or 2-4 drops to a tblspn of carrier oil and massage onto tired and worn musles.

Combine 10-15 drops with water to make a disinfectant spray for a fast drying cleaner for surfaces around the home.
