Christianity isn't the only legend from which Myrrh has become a focus of the story. A Syrian and Greek legend tells the story of the Syrian King Thesis' daughter, Myrrh, who was protected from her father's fury by the protective Gods by being turned into a Myrrh tree. The tree was named after Myrrh and it was believed that the resin seeping from the tree was Myrrha’s tears.
